聚氨酯直埋保温管道保温从里到外分三层构造管道保温一层：任务钢管层依据设计和客户的要求普通选用无缝管(GB8163-87)螺旋焊管（GB9711-88;SY/T5038-92)和直缝焊管(GB3092-93)。钢管外表经过的抛丸除锈工艺处置后，钢管除锈等级可达GB8923-1988规范中的Sa2级，外表粗糙度可达GB6060.5-88规范中R=12.5微米。

管道保温第三层：高密度聚乙烯维护层预制成一定壁厚的黑色（黄色）塑料管材，其作用一是维护聚氨酯保温层免遭机械硬物毁坏，二是防腐防水。聚氨酯直埋保温管道保温使用：合适保送在-50℃—150℃范围内的各种介质的保温保冷工程。它普遍使用于城市集中供热、暖室、冷库、煤矿、石油港口、化工等行业的保温保冷工程。管道保温劣势特点1降低工程造价。据有关部门测算，控制供热管道，普通状况下可以降低工程造价的25％（采用玻璃钢做维护层）和10％（采用高密度聚乙烯做维护层）左右。2热损耗低，浪费动力。其导热系数爲：λ＝0．013—0．03kcal／m·h·oC，比其他过来常用的管道保温资料低得多，保温效果进步4~9倍。再有其吸水率很低。
