What Should Be Noted When Selecting Insulation Materials?
Common application types and design selection of building insulation materials shall comply with GB/T 17369-1998, Application Types and Basic Requirements of Building Insulation Materials.
In addition to thermal conductivity, water absorption, combustion performance, strength, and other indices of the material should also be considered. Performance characteristics of different insulation materials can be found in the corresponding classification criteria.

Inorganic insulation materials are generally materials with thermal conductivity less than or equal to 0.2.
Using good insulation technology and materials in buildings and industry can often achieve twice the result with half the effort. Statistics show that for every tonne of mineral-wool insulation used in buildings, one tonne of oil can be saved each year. Adoption in Beijing energy-saving communities shows that the coal-saving rate per unit area is 11.91 kg of standard coal per square meter per year. For industrial equipment and pipelines, adopting good insulation measures and materials can greatly reduce production energy consumption and cost, improve the environment, and yield better economic benefits. For example, in industrial equipment and pipeline projects, good insulation conditions can reduce heat loss by about 95%, and the investment normally used for insulation materials can generally be recovered in about one year through energy savings.
