Problems that easily occur with direct-buried insulated pipes. With social development, technology is becoming more advanced. The steel-pipe industry is now fully automated. Although investment in construction equipment has increased, more importantly labor costs have been reduced in order to improve production efficiency. When production efficiency increases, revenue increases accordingly. Therefore, although the investment is large, the return is also rapid.
A straight-seam pipe production line can now produce 100 pieces of 12 m fixed-length pipe per day. It is not possible to state how many tons that represents, because diameter, wall thickness, and therefore weight differ. Calculated for 630X14mm: (630-14)×14×0.02466×12 = 2.55—this is the weight of one 12 m pipe. Multiplied by the 100 pieces produced per day, output is about 255 tons for the 630x14mm specification. Of course, smaller diameters and thinner walls cannot reach this tonnage.

The editor of the direct-buried insulated pipe manufacturer notes that in welding production of straight-seam welded pipe, the more common problem is broken welding wire, because the straight-seam specification uses submerged-arc welding. If the wire breaks during normal welding and flux is insufficient, it becomes troublesome: as soon as the wire breaks, welding cannot keep up, such a weld is unqualified and must be repaired manually, and it can easily cause accidents during construction. Welding problems usually occur at the two ends. Repairing a welding problem that appears in the middle is more troublesome.
Commonly used Q345B differs from carbon steel. 345 denotes manganese plate. As introduced by the direct-buried insulated pipe manufacturer, the materials used are all for high-pressure pipe. Welding requirements are relatively strict, so broken welding wire and interrupted flux are absolutely unacceptable. Repairing them increases the workload; although the process is computer-automated, the operator must also have a certain skill and familiarity with the computer so that welding problems do not occur.
